As a full Professor, I am researching the area of Digital Health -appointed to the University of Amsterdam. As a practicing upper GI surgeon in the Amsterdam UMC, I am researching how technology and digital innovation fits optimally in healthcare and in medical education. 

I make an effort to bridge initiatives, perceptions and regulations of the work floor within and between governing bodies. Doing so, I am also a (supervisory) board member of several institutes and hospitals.
